The ZOLL Child Pedi-Padz II (Part No. 8900-0810-01) are the genuine manufacturer paediatric replacement electrodes for the ZOLL AED Plus and ZOLL AED Pro defibrillators. They are designed specifically for use on children under 8 years of age or weighing less than 25kg.
Automatic energy adjustment — no manual switching required
When the Pedi-Padz II are connected to a compatible ZOLL AED, the device automatically detects the child-specific electrode and adjusts its energy output to a paediatric-appropriate level. The AED provides voice and text prompts to confirm to the rescuer that it has recognised the child pads and will not apply an adult-level shock. There is no manual mode-switching required — the pads do the work automatically.
Why paediatric pads matter
Standard adult defibrillation energy levels are too high for small children. Using adult pads on a child under 25kg risks delivering an unsafe shock. Equally, in a paediatric cardiac emergency, not having the correct pads immediately available can cause critical delays. Schools, sports clubs, childcare centres, and any venue where children are regularly present should keep a set of Pedi-Padz II alongside their standard adult pads.
Shorter shelf life — check your expiry date
The Pedi-Padz II have a 2-year standby life from manufacture — significantly shorter than the 5-year life of the adult CPR-D Padz. It is important to track the expiry date separately and replace them on schedule. The expiry date is printed on the packaging.

Note on the ZOLL AED 3
If your organisation uses the ZOLL AED 3, you do not need separate paediatric pads. The AED 3 Uni-padz are universal and automatically adjust for both adult and child patients.
