The Lockable & Alarmed Outdoor AED Cabinet (Part No. 8000-0867) is a secure, tamper-deterrent outdoor storage solution for your defibrillator. It is designed for organisations that need to protect their AED from unauthorised access or vandalism while ensuring it remains accessible in a genuine cardiac emergency.
Emergency access via 111
The cabinet is secured with a 4-digit PIN code that can be registered with New Zealand’s 111 emergency service. In a cardiac emergency, a caller to 111 can receive the access code for their registered location, allowing a bystander to retrieve the AED without delay. This removes the security-versus-access trade-off that makes standard locked cabinets problematic in emergency situations.
Alarm system
The cabinet features a built-in alarm powered by a standard 9V battery — no mains power connection is required. This makes installation flexible and eliminates dependence on electrical supply.
Construction
Built from 1.5mm cold rolled steel, the cabinet is robust enough for outdoor use in most New Zealand locations. Dimensions: 48cm (W) × 38cm (H) × 24cm (D).
Installation guidance
This cabinet should be installed in a covered outdoor location — under an eave, porch, or canopy — so it is not directly exposed to wind, rain, or prolonged sun. It is not rated for protection against salt-spray and is not recommended for coastal installations within range of salt air. For coastal locations, contact us to discuss suitable alternatives.
Suitable for: commercial buildings, sports facilities, schools, parks, construction sites, and other outdoor public spaces in non-coastal locations.
